2026 Spring Main Session
FA306/Studio/01 - Digital Tools
|
Credits
3.00
Digital fabrication is reframing traditional notions of artistic processes and production. These digital tools require new ways of thinking and planning as new possibilities emerge. In addition, the integration of digital tools in analog environments creates rich conditions for critique and innovative exploration. In this class students will gain proficiency in Rhino as they learn to effectively use 3d printers, the laser cutter, and the CNC router. In discussions, research, and application students will develop individualized relationships to these tools and will be able to effectively and critically introduce new methods, materials, and processes into their existing practices.
