FDC250/Studio/01 - Audio and Sound Design | Credits 3.00
This course introduces students to the foundations of sound design. Through screenings, lectures, workshops, presentations, and critique, students will gather the theory and practical skills required to develop film and series soundtracks. From capturing clean audio with sound recording equipment on location to working with dialogue, music, and sound effects in post production, students will engage with sound recording and design in short films to learn best practices to create longer pieces. Course objectives: - Utilize proper sound recording techniques to capture clean audio on location - Develop and implement industry standard orginizational methodes of editing. - Employ film sound terminology/vocabulary lingo specific to audio during critique and discussions - Identiy and implement sound design that complements the story while shaping audience perception
