2026 Spring Main Session
IL410/Studio/02 - Illustration Thesis
|
Credits
3.00
In collaboration with the senior student, the faculty directs a sustained project that focuses on the development of a personal illustrative "style". Students work independently in their studio and meet in regularly scheduled individual and group critiques to monitor the progress of the projects. With the advice and consent of the instructor the student develops a cohesive body of work in preparation for the required thesis presentation in the senior show. In both Fall and Spring semesters, students also identify target markets and clients that utilize the style and type of work they are developing for their project. The final polishing of cover letters, resumes, business cards, digital and traditional self-promotional material prepares the student for entry into the professional world after graduation. The thesis presentation is documented through digital images. Based on the scope of a student's project or level of study there may be additional costs for materials and supplies.
