2026 Spring Main Session
PH311/Studio/01 - Junior Studio II
|
Credits
3.00
In this year-long course, students will synthesize the aesthetic, technical, and conceptual skills developed in previous courses to explore lens-based imagery as a language to investigate ideas, convey meaning and interpret/contribute to culture. Students will establish and sustain an ambitious, diverse, and increasing independent practice through advanced research and individualized inquiry. Throughout the year, students will create a series of long-term artistic projects. In dedicated studios and during regular critiques, students will see their diverse practices in conversation with each other’s work and provide thoughtful and inclusive feedback to peers. Critiques and lab time will be supplemented by visiting critics, field trips, thematic prompts, and material-based exercises.
