|
Credits
3.00
Trend Forecasting evaluates past and current trends and depicts forthcoming collections by incorporating the proper use of textiles, color, fabrics, trims, and style direction for future collections. Students study historical fashion archives and identify ways to adopt concepts for a particular brand through customer segmentation. The utilization of trend maps and mind mapping tools are introduced as visual mechanisms for trend forecasting in design concepts and merchandising strategies. Student assessment will include concept development, consumer behavior analysis, trend reporting, trend boards, and using trend databases, like WGSN, and projects in forecasting trends throughout the fashion industry.
