This class explores the function of standard modes of communication, with an emphasis on moving beyond conventional and predictable approaches. Students will develop deeper, more meaningful audience engage-ment through inventive use of motion, materials, and prompted interactivity. Each project will serve as a study in the creative integration of form and function, encouraging experimentation and innovation in how messages are delivered and received. Learning Objectives • To invent and explore new and unique processes for creating and applying a self-authored image/object • To develop formal languages as appropriate to given contexts or themes. • To experiment with materials, movement and mechanisms both analog and digital • To integrate both form and function in a unified design
