Projects in Clay explores the basics of building forms with clay. Working with mid-range clays, students will utilize coil and slab building, and wheel forming to create sculptural and functional ceramic objects. Surface exploration includes underglazes, slips, majolica, and sgraffito. Glaze application and formulation are also taught. Firing processes include raku, electric and gas kilns.
