This course will focus on the 12 basic principles of creating the illusion of movement through the sequencing of still images. Emphasis will be placed on basic animation fundamentals such as cycles, squash and stretch, anticipation/reaction, etc. This class will also introduce students to a variety of styles and techniques like paper cut out, 2D puppetry, frame by frame, and straight ahead animation. Students will end the course with a short animated piece that incorporates all of the skills learned in class. Course Objectives: -Implement the 12 principles of animation -Successfully navigate the 2d rendering pipeline -Animate using a variety of 2D styles and techniques -Animate a short 5-15 second film.
