First year students at Moore College of Art & Design who are Entertainment Design majors will take this bridge-to-major class as part of their major requirements and as a general Introduction to the concepts of Entertainment Design. This course provides a survey of the Entertainment Design industry with some applied projects for the students to try out different tools and processes. Topics include a historical survey of entertainment design, its evolving history and practices, and what the future holds. Practical elements include topics such as usability and user experience in both the physical and digital world examined through prototyping and user testing. The class will be held at the Franklin Institute, a science museum and the center of science education and research in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
