Image Making Strategies is designed to introduce students to a wide range of printmaking techniques including but not limited to monotype, intaglio and relief. In this process-intensive course, students will explore, both formally and conceptually, the construction of images. Through technique-based instruction, presentations, class discussions and critiques, students will develop their abilities for critical thinking and expression. Throughout the course, students will be exposed to the work of a diverse group of printmakers and contemporary artists who use the medium to explore and expand their existing studio practices. Based on the scope of a student's project or level of study, there may be additional costs for materials and supplies.
