This course examines ideas of womanhood shaped through the contributions of literature. Time periods and global focus vary semester to semester, but the underlying critical topic remains consistent: the close study, appreciation, and analysis of written texts that have contributed specific concepts and cultural attitudes toward gender identities associated with womanhood across the globe, both historically and in the contemporary.
