2026 Fall Main Session
ID459/Studio/01 - Programming & Research | Credits 3.00
Course materials will examine how the built environment is influenced by both human factors and ecological, socioeconomic, and cultural contexts. Through reading, critical analysis and writing, students will develop a theoretical knowledge base that will be used as the basis of their independent thesis project. From research and the analysis of building sites, precedents and case studies, each student will develop a written program that will form the foundation of the thesis project. This course begins the first semester, of a two-semester process, where a significant body of work is developed.
