Students focus on the vital information and skills needed to work in concert with the professional world. The instructor and guest lecturers discuss the areas of artists' rights and laws, taxes, understanding a business brief, writing for business, cover letters and resumes, illustrated mailers, job search techniques, functioning as a staff artist within a corporate climate, surviving as a freelancer, target marketing, and the overall development of an entrepreneurial strategy. Based on the scope of a student's project or level of study there may be additional costs for materials and supplies. Satisfies: Major Requirement
