2026 Fall Main Session
FA421/Studio/02 - Senior Studio
|
Credits
3.00
The Senior Studio course employs open-ended projects and a mentoring approach to aiding the student to make her own discoveries. Students are exposed to a wide range of aesthetic directions and concepts, augmented by the Visiting Artists sponsored by Fine Arts over the course of the semester. Contemporary and historical contexts of various art disciplines are discussed as an ongoing feature of this class. It is the responsibility of the student to define her interests and choose a means of investigating her content and means of expression. The student may choose to work in any variety or combination of media and processes in the pursuit of her goals. Individual studio space allows for further independence and reinforces the expectations of self-direction in this course. Participation in and full attendance of the end-of-semester Fine Art Final Critiques is a mandatory requirement. Based on the scope of a student's project or level of study there may be additional costs for materials and supplies Satisfies: Major Requirement
