SC269/Studio/01 - Sculpture In Steel
|
Credits
3.00
This course introduces students to both hot and cold metal fabrication processes. Over the course of the semester, students will learn to weld with both Oxy/Acetylene and a Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welder. Students will also be taught how to safely cut, bend, and shape steel using the specialized tools and machinery in the metal shop. With these techniques, students will produce a series of sculptural objects that express their individual ideas and investigate formal and spatial concerns. Based on the scope of a student's project or level of study there may be additional costs for materials and supplies. Satisfies: Studio Elective
