A historical survey of western and non-western interior styles provides a critical context for studio design work. Relationships to concurrent developments in art, architecture, technology, psychology and social change will be integrated with the primary interior design focus. A chronology of periods from Ancient through Rococo will be followed. Special presentations will focus on architectural mass-void relationships and relationships in the use of color on buildings and their interiors. Based on the scope of a student's project or level of study there may be additional costs for materials and supplies.
