|
Credits
3.00
In this online course, assessment strategies in art education for typical students are researched, discussed, and applied. A comparison of assessments strategies such as the Brigance Comprehensive Inventory of Basic Skills and the Woodcock-Johnson for students with special needs is made. Case studies highlighting differences in assessment strategies for individuals with disabilities will be researched and reviewed. Candidates will appropriately observe and assess an individual with special needs (a minimum of three hours of observation and testing). The outcome of field-testing a specific art skill will be analyzed and posted on Moodle for the instructor and peers to review. Throughout the course, the instructor will assign and conduct additional online course engagement to support the course objectives.
