AEGR625 - Studio Intensives: Independent Studios
This course is intended to complement the candidate's academic courses by providing an intensive studio experience. The purpose of the course is to ensure that the candidate maintains an active studio presence in addition to completing the more practical and theoretical aspects of the curriculum. This course will meet on Wednesdays all day and on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the evening; the remainder of the studio component is comprised of independent studio work. As a way of bridging studio work and thesis, candidates will write a studio statement describing their artistic and aesthetic experience. This statement will be presented in draft form and considered in relation to the student's work throughout the course of the term. The final version of the artist statement will be presented as part of the candidate's final exhibition of studio work.
