DM309 - Web Design III: Advanced Projects
This course focuses on mastering a systematic approach to designing large-scale professional client-based websites. Students develop expertise in meeting client needs through planning, building, and testing sites using contemporary technologies and design styles. The full range of elements used to create web structures is covered, including cross-platform compatibility, scalability, databases, and content management systems such as Joomla. Students gain understanding of JavaScript and jQuery to create a dynamic user experience. Projects incorporate information architecture, competitive analysis, wireframes, HTML/CSS layouts, HTML5, color palettes, usability testing, designing for blogs, and portfolio design. Prerequisites: Digital Imaging with Photoshop, Web Design I and Web Design II or equivalent knowledge.
