IDGR637 - Interior Materials & Finishes
This course is an exploration of traditional and new materials and finishes, including textiles, used in interiors and their manufacture, installation and maintenance. Besides textiles, the materials and finishes covered will include wood, tile and stone, glass, plastic and other materials that can be used in interior applications. Appropriate selections for particular applications will be discussed. Students will research new uses for traditional materials as well as the application of materials newly available for use in interior design. All materials will be considered in the context of their sustainable qualities. Based on the scope of a student's project or level of study there may be additional costs for materials and supplies.
