IMA303 - Professional Practice
The Internship Prep course prepares the student for the 240-hour required internship that usually takes place in the summer between junior and senior year. Preparation will include the development of critical professional skills such as job research, networking, resumes and cover letter writing, portfolio assembly, and interviewing skills. The signed internship contract must be on file with the Career Center before the student's 240-hour internship begins to accrue. Students taking this course will also develop professional practices that are geared towards the fields of animation, games, and mobile app development. Industry-related field trips and guest lectures will be scheduled in order to expose students to the most recent developments in the industry. A crucial counterpart of this course will be the review of students' completed portfolios by professional practitioners.
