SAGR627 - Graduate Directed Research
Candidates will pursue advanced, individually directed study under the guidance of a faculty member with the explicit goal of working towards their March thesis exhibition/project. The student will have individual studio visits and participate in all group critiques. Project research, creative execution and presentation will be a focus of this course. Based on the scope of a student's project or level of study there may be additional costs for materials and supplies. There may also be field trips coordinated with other faculty across the program for which there may be additional costs for travel.

Independent
Description Candidates will continue to work independently on their thesis research in their studio / communities for 90 hours over the course of the term under the guidance of an external advisor or mentor from outside the College faculty. Candidates start identifying potential external advisors during the previous summer term in consultation with the Graduate Program Manager. The external advisor must be approved by the Graduate Program Manager and all forms filled out and filed by the candidate prior to the end of add/drop period. A minimum number of three individual one-hour meetings between the external advisor and the candidate are required.
