IL204/Studio/03 - Life Drawing for IL: Form
|
Credits
3.00
A disciplined study of figurative construction through analytical perceptual drawing. Students work from animal and human skeletons, plaster casts, wooden manikins and the life model. Lectures and projects focus on artistic anatomy, linear perspective as it relates to figurative construction, compositional analyses of masterwork figurative illustrations and strategies used in illustrative and narrative figure drawing. The instruction follows a concept of systematic progression from modeled line drawings through tonal studies. As requisite skills are acquired, the student builds toward more challenging assignments. Based on the scope of a student's project or level of study there may be additional costs for materials and supplies. Satisfies: Major Requirement
