This course develops an understanding of the anatomy of type as well as its terminology, organization, and relationship with other graphic elements. Participants explore how letterforms and clusters of letters can convey meaning. Emphasis is on learning how the use of fonts and specific font families has an impact on messages and compositions. Projects range the use of simple typographic elements to the creation of typographic solutions to various design problems. Students focus on refining their skills in clarification of message and interpretation of content through typographic expression. (Online)
