Construct a simple garment by developing pattern drafting skills. Learn how to draft and adjust basic sloper patterns, fit muslin or toile, and choose the right fabric. Develop a design presentation board, increase familiarity with the language of fashion and learn to present projects professionally. A guided tour of fabric row and exposure to the world of fashion design is sure to inspire. The end of the semester presents an opportunity to show select finished garments during the highly anticipated Young Artists Workshop Family & Friends Day Fashion show. * This class has a maximum enrollment of 12 students so register early. Prerequisite: Basic sewing skills or equivalent experience.
