Learn how to design and build full-featured websites using WordPress, a free, easy to use, open-source website publishing platform. Students are introduced to major web development languages and learn how to build custom websites. Projects include creating a WordPress account and inserting text and multimedia, as well as utilizing custom themes, widgets, and plug-ins. Live websites are used to address WordPress implementation issues. Additional topics include Search Engine Optimization techniques, introductory web analytics concepts, and the incorporation of web analytics in a WordPress website. Prerequisite: Digital Design or equivalent knowledge.
