The course examines the elements and principles of fashion design with a focus on the functions of creative design and technical design. Topics focus on the relationship of apparel design and manufacturing to other branches of the fashion business, the collaboration between product development and design teams, current industrial and technological developments, as well as sizing and quality standards with an emphasis on garment styles and their components. Projects include analyzing the basics of apparel construction and production and guiding a style from the conceptual sketch stage to a tangible product sample. No Prerequisites.
