This course provides a comprehensive overview of the textile industry and a general study of textile materials with an emphasis on factors that produce successful fabrics in the marketplace. Participants gain an understanding of the creative use of fabric in clothing design, textile terminology, production processes, and practices in the fashion industry. Characteristics of a wide range of contemporary materials, elements and techniques are covered. No prerequisites.
